Dear Parent/Guardian
Perth & Kinross Music Foundation is a registered charity that aims to financially support young musicians who attend state schools in Perth & Kinross.
If you are on low income and/or in support of Universal Credit awards, we may be able to provide some financial assistance to you to support your young musician’s participation in Central Groups/Orchestras run by Perth & Kinross Instrumental Music Service. To support your application, you will be required to provide evidence of your financial circumstances.
All applications for assistance should be made via the Perth & Kinross Council IMS portal and must provide relevant evidence of your income status/benefits award(s).
The Trustees will consider all applications sympathetically and will treat each case individually and confidentially. Please complete the form as clearly as possible. To cut down on costs, we will use email communication for acknowledgments, any queries, and notification of the final decision of the Trustees. The decision of the Trustees is final and there is no appeal process.
The Foundation regularly contacts potential grant funders, sponsors, and other supporters to raise funds. Please note that final decisions on applications may not be taken until later in the academic year, though it is our hope that we can advise you about the final decision on your application as quickly as possible.
Meantime, if you have applied to us for assistance and you receive an invoice from Perth & Kinross Council, please contact them and let them know that you have written to us and are awaiting a decision on funding. In the interim, you may choose to make alternative arrangements with Perth & Kinross Council for payment of fees. If your application for assistance is then agreed by the Music Foundation Trustees, any payment you have made to the Council will be refunded up to the amount of assistance awarded.
Please note that a new application for assistance must be made to the Music Foundation for each academic year.
Yours sincerely
